As per California Senate Bill SB-577, it is important to note the following:
The homeopathic practitioners mentioned on this website are not licensed medical doctors and homeopathy is not a licensed practice in the state of California. Your homeopath will offer the following services:
At the first consultation, your homeopath will take about an hour to gather information about you (or your child), including symptoms and medical history of past and present complaints.
Your homeopath will then analyze the information and choose the remedy that they believe best matches your symptoms. Classical Homeopathy follows a set of defined principles and is based on the idea that a substance that produces specific symptoms in a healthy individual can alleviate the same symptoms in an ill person. Homeopaths are trained to select the most fitting remedy, out of over thousands of medicine, that corresponds to your complete set of symptoms. The selected remedy is then given in a potentized form that can activate your body’s natural healing processes.
You can choose to receive the remedy from your homeopath or be directed to where you can obtain it.
Your homeopath will guide you how to take medicine.
At follow-up consultations, your homeopath will evaluate the response to the remedy and may recommend further homeopathic remedies or lifestyle changes as needed.
Your homeopath will be available during normal office hours to answer questions and address any concerns regarding your (or your child’s) homeopathic treatment.
Treatment is subject to mutual agreement and can be discontinued by either party.
Your homeopath will maintain records of consultations and treatment, which you may review if you wish.
It should be kept in mind that homeopaths do not follow traditional medical diagnostic methods and the effectiveness and duration of homeopathic treatment can differ from person to person, hence there is no guarantee of specific outcomes.
If you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, feel free to discuss them with your homeopath. It is your responsibility to maintain a relationship with a licensed physician and it is recommended that you inform your doctor that you are receiving homeopathic treatment.
Homeopathy is considered an alternative or complementary practice to licensed medical arts in California. Homeopaths are allowed to offer services under sections 2053.5 and 2053.6 of California’s Business and Professions Code, with certain requirements and restrictions.
As unlicensed practitioners, homeopaths are prohibited from:
performing surgical procedures or any procedure that pierces the skin or invades the body, using X-rays,
prescribing prescription drugs or advising to discontinue drugs prescribed by a licensed physician, setting fractures, treating wounds with electrotherapy, causing great bodily harm, serious physical or mental illness, or death and implying in any way that they are licensed physicians.
Before your first appointment, we will provide you a consultation agreement, written using plain language, with more details about above items.
